Too many ups and downs for me in this industry…. I love picking games and the thrill that comes from being on the right side of a game. However, I find myself becoming more and more irate with the NFL! I no longer watch games for the joy of watching them, rather I focus more on the negative (bad calls, blown calls, no calls, etc). I fully understand the business side of sports and that it is indeed a business. A flourishing business that surpasses every other sport in the world as far as total revenue between owners and the 32 teams involved. Obviously when money is involved there are going to be manipulations, corruptions and people highly motivated based on the potential of making lots of dough (Referees, Vegas, etc)!

Since we’ve all witnessed the countless scandals of match fixings in various sports from Tennis matches, Soccer games, NBA and Boxing/MMA it’s hard to ignore these unmoral values that frequently occur on a regular basis. As a capper and a fan of just about every sport there is, it’s hard to shutout the possibility of these fixes happening in almost every contest. With that, it makes watching the games very tiresome (when making plays with ratings of course). The refs are crooked and the majority of players seem only interested in how big a contract they can sign (Show me the money)! Since our society is concerned less about moral value and more about how fat their paycheck is, I can only logically come up with one conclusion. C.R.E.A.M, Cash rules everything around me! This may not be the motto for those who choose to ignore the underlying facts.

Since money has been currency, people (Cowboys and Indians, Mobsters and Thieves) have been robbing banks, trains, other people and indirectly you and me. Just because it’s the year 2011 and we live in “the most awesomest country in the world” and the entire world economy is in shambles doesn’t mean this corruption doesn’t exist anymore, it didn’t just go away. Hell, anyone familiar with the word “Mordida” (the bite)  and has traveled south of the border knows that even cops are looking for an extra penny anyway they can. It’s an ugly place out there and we as people (Not everyone) have moved away from moral and ethical values that are important to the backbone of our society as a whole. I’m not ranting because I’m upset over a single game not going my way but instead I’m trying to enlighten those who are willing to see the mere truth. It’s all a scam, in someway or another we are constantly being controlled like puppets. Whether it’s sports, government, bosses in corporations, etc we are mostly all minnows in a large sea with little to no say.

Again, sorry for the rant but I’m tired of continually watching the madness and taking my frustrations out on inanimate objects and family members. It just isn’t worth fighting week in and week out. In attempt to find or predict what games may or may not be fixed. I don’t know what player woke up on the wrong side of the bed anymore than you do, and I certainly don’t what ref was pulled aside before or during the game to make a game deciding call. It happens more than we can imagine but with so many casual fans and viewers the minor call here or there is just part of the game. However, for those of you like me that meticulously watch every play under a microscope there is a fairly good argument that certain calls or non-calls happen at very opportunistic times.

So in all fairness to myself and those I’m closely surrounded by it’s time to hang up the cleats on sports handicapping publicly. It isn’t about wagering or losing money as I haven’t put any action on a game in quite some time!  I love to write and sports is my favorite past time but it’s time for change and a new perspective. I will find something less intense/emotional and more meaningful to write about. I wish you all the best but always remember that this is a business and one that will continue to grow as long as their is a large following, lots of marketing and an industry or pool of people to make money off of!!!! Please feel free to email me with any questions you might have (any sports, games, what side I like etc) as I still want to help out!
